While the world was watching closely for the first glimpse of the new royal baby, it was his big sister Princess Charlotte who well and truly stole the show.
On Monday morning Duchess Of Cambridge Kate Middleton gave birth to her third child with Prince William.
And not long after the baby boy was born, Wills left to pick up Prince George and Princess Charlotte for a trip to meet their new little brother at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital.
When they returned, while four-year-old George looked a little shy walking down the pavement, Charlotte lapped up the media attention and even gave the press an adorable wave.
The two-year-old is clearly comfortable being in front of a crowd, and when her dad led her into the hospital she turned around and continued to wave at her adoring fans.
Naturally, hundreds of royal followers took to Twitter to gush over the princess, as one wrote: “Can’t cope with Princess Charlotte’s little wave! She looks so excited! #royalbaby“.
“Raise your hand if Princess Charlotte’s wave killed you”, said another.
While a third added: “How cute is Princess Charlotte. Already getting into the royal groove #royalbaby”.
And they weren’t the only ones…

Kensington Palace earlier announced that Kate had given birth to royal baby no.3, a healthy boy weighing 8lbs 7oz.
A statement read: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 11.01am.
“The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
And the proud parents looked absolutely overjoyed when they emerged with their adorable little one on Monday evening.
Kate looked relaxed – yet as groomed as ever – in a pretty red Jenny Packham dress, sporting her signature bouncy blow dry. William, who was present for the birth, stood proudly by her side, joking with the crowd- “thrice the worry now!”
AW! Now we’re just waiting eagerly for the royal name!
