Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they were expecting their first child on Monday, fans all over the world have been waiting to see what Meghan Markle would wear next.
And as she stepped out on the second day of her and Harry’s Australian royal tour, Meghan wore a white shirt, a pair of slim fitted trousers, boots and a plaid blazer, costing £110.
The oversized blazer, known as the ‘Boss’ blazer, came from her pal and tennis champion Serena Williams’ self named clothing line.
And the 37-year-old athlete couldn’t contain her delight at Meghan choosing to wear her brand, as she gushed over the royal on Instagram.
Just hours later, Serena’s official Instagram account shared side-by-side images of the athlete and the royal in the blazer, while the Serena online store was redesigned to feature a massive photo of Meghan at the top of the site.
“The face you make when you and Meghan have matching @serenablazers 😍
#BeSeenBeHeard Link in bio to shop the collection!” Serena captioned a series of photos – the first showing a smiling Meghan in the ‘Boss’ blazer and the second of herself wearing the very same jacket.
And unsurprisingly, the garment has now completely sold out online.
But while you might not be able to achieve this particular look of Meghan’s, you could always opt for another of Serena’s designs, which includes a £90 ‘Royal Duchess cropped hoodie’, which is said to have been inspired by their close friendship.
And it’s rumoured that Serena sent one of these jumpers to Kensington Palace for the Duchess to wear, although the ‘Boss’ blazer is the first item from Serena’s collection Meghan has been spotted wearing.
The pair are said to have met at Super Bowl back in 2010 and Serena was among the star-studded guests at Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding in May.
Sharing a photo from the lavish day, Serena gave nod to the Royal Wedding, referring to husband, Reddit co-founder Alex Ohanian, as her “king” by using a crown emoji.
And in July, Meghan was seen supporting Serena at Wimbledon, as the athlete made her return to the games following the birth of her daughter Alexis Olympia last year.
Now, that’s what we call girl power!
