Just yesterday, the entire royal clan gathered at Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s annual Christmas lunch.

It’s usually an informal affair, with all the extended family present to celebrate Christmas ahead of the big day.

But this year, the luncheon was special for a different reason, as it marked the first time Ms. Meghan Markle met with her beau’s extended family ahead of the pair’s May wedding.

The glamorous star rolled up to the prestigious royal event in a blacked out Land Rover with her new fiance, and was shortly followed by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

And of course, cheeky Prince George and Princess Charlotte were spotted in the back of the car, pulling funny faces and donning adorable Christmas outfits.

While inside the cosy palace affair, it was a perfect opportunity for Meghan to get to know plenty of Harry’s distanct relatives. She met with everyone from the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, to Lady Amelia Windsor, Diana’s niece.

And it seems as though the former actress went down a storm with the extended royal family!

The Daily Mail reports that the relatives were completely bowled over by “charming” Meghan – who was said to be shy at first, but gradually got more comfortable with the festivities.

The publication shared how Meghan happily donned a cheesy paper hat and delighted the family with a cringe-worthy cracker joke. And, clearly, the whole royal clan were won over by the popular former actress.

An insider told the publication, “Everyone wanted to meet Meghan and welcome her to the family and she didn’t disappoint,

“She was obviously a bit nervous at first but she soon relaxed with Prince Harry’s help as he introduced her to everyone and then she really enjoyed it.”

It seems that Harry also had a fabulous time showing off his new fiancee too, with the insider reportedly stating how “proud” he was of her. Aww!

They said, “Harry was clearly very happy and very proud of her. And everyone thought she was delightful. It was your typical Christmas lunch in spite of who was there – turkey, crackers…the lot. “

As usual, stylish Meghan also wowed in the fashion stakes at the royal event.

The 36-year-old wore a £300 lace dress from Self Portrait – a label also loved by the Duchess of Cambridge.

Seems as though the soon-to-be bride is taking style tips from her sister-in-law!
