Linda Robson has shared a touching tribute to her late mother Rita, on the anniversary of her death six years ago.

The Loose Women star shared a poignant collection of pictures alongside the message, including one of her and her late mother.

She confessed that she and her family “love and miss” Rita “more every day”, in the emotional tribute.

Linda wrote, ‘Thinking of our beautiful Reet peteet who we lost 6 years ago today to dementia and cancer we love and miss you more every day you were the best mum nan and great nan to me tina Debbie your grandchildren and great grandchildren love you all our hearts best mum ever #oneofakind’.

Fans were keen to share their support for Linda on the difficult day, with many saying that they were thinking of her and her family.

One follower wrote, ‘Thinking of you today . They are never more than a thought away x’, while another wrote, ‘Thinking of you all today with much love and affection 😘😘😘💪❤xxxx’.

Linda herself wrote in the comments how much her mother would have loved the grandchildren that have come along since her passing.

She said, ‘miss her more every day she would’ve loved Betsy barney stan Arthur and bertie’.

The presenter’s mother passed away in August 2012 after a long battle with dementia. Linda’s devastating blow came years after her father passed away at the age of just 57, after a battle with lung cancer.

Since then, Linda has campaigned to raise awareness of the effects of smoking – taking part in a campaign for the British Lung Foundation to stop smoking in cars with children on board.

Speaking about her mother’s passing last year, Linda confessed that although the moment was painful, her actual death was a rather peaceful experience.

She told Lorraine, ‘My mum had the nicest death. She was surrounded by us (her family) in the room and she died peacefully in her sleep.

And, of her mother’s carers, she said, ”I can never thank them enough for what they did for her and us,”
