Kate Garraway has confessed that she made a major mistake on her 13th wedding anniversary with her husband Derek Draper.

The GMB host revealed to her followers on Instagram that she completely forgot about their important anniversary – only being reminded after seeing a sweet social media post from her husband.

Sharing a screenshot of the post on her social media, she wrote, ‘When you are on your way home from a night out & you realise your husband has posted this wonderful thing on Facebook and you totally forgot it was your anniversary 😱#fail . Do I sneak in quietly?!’ Eek!

Writer Derek had written about his wife, ‘Happy anniversary to the smartest, kindest, sexiest gal I know. Love you x’ – aww!

Alongside the photo, he shared a picture of himself and Kate at their wedding 13 years ago. Kate and Derek married in Camden, London, in September 2005, and welcomed their first child, a daughter, just a year later.

Kate’s followers were quick to comment on her awkward blunder, although some simply wished the GMB presenter a happy anniversary.

One wrote, ‘O no uv got some makeing up to do !! Lol 😂 x’, while another said, ‘Awwwh happy anniversary @kategarraway Derek will forgive you.. I’m sure he is used to the occasional scatty moment!!’.

And a third fan said, ‘Least hubby remembered makes a change it’s always the women., who remember what a lovely hubby you have 💖’

Kate was actually out at the annual TV Choice awards, a glitzy showbiz event celebrating the best in television over the last year.

She was joined at the glamorous awards ceremony by fellow GMB presenter Charlotte Hawkins – and although the show didn’t pick up an award, it looks as though the pair still had a great night.

The presenter opted for a stunning white shirt and red skirt for the event – both from high-street store Coast.

While Kate’s skirt was on the slightly pricier end at £149, her shirt was just £59, making it a much more affordable option.
