Emma Bunton might be best known for strutting her stuff with the Spice Girls, but now the star has bagged herself a surprise new role.
Get ready to feel seriously jealous, because the 42-year-old has been announced as the new presenter of the US version of The Great British Bake Off. Which means she gets to eat cake all day…
The Great American Baking Show will return to TV across the pond later this year for it’s fifth series, with Emma taking the helm alongside presenter Anthony Spice Adams.
Bake Off veteran Paul Hollywood is taking his spot back as a judge, while cook book author Sherry Yard is also returning on the panel.
And it looks like Baby Spice can’t wait to get stuck into all those sweet treats, as she’s admitted it’s her “dream job.”
Speaking about her latest gig, Emma revealed, “This is my dream job! Christmas time, eating cake and having such a brilliant time with Spice, Sherry and Paul.”
It’s thought that the former popstar has already started filming in America, as she gushed on her Heart radio show this morning, “Paul’s great fun! I had lots of fun with Paul. He’s got a great sense of humour.”
Before joking, “He can be trouble! Don’t look in his eyes!”
The presenter then added, “Also it’s a holiday edition so it’s around Christmas and who loves Christmas more than me?”
While we’re VERY excited about Emma’s new role, it’s yet to be announced whether we’ll get to see it in the UK.
Emma’s announcement comes after The Great American Baking Show faced controversy last year when judge Johnny Iuzzini faced allegations of sexual misconduct.
The pastry chef – who denied the allegations – had been a judge in all three series’, but US TV channel ABC decided not to air the remaining episodes at the end of 2017 following the accusations.
