Jason claims there’s plenty of backstage drama at the TV skating show...
Everyone knows that Strictly Come Dancing is infamous for its supposed ‘curse’ – with every new series bringing fresh scandal as famous faces don their dancing shoes.
But according to Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner, the ballroom dancing competition has nothing on the things that happen back stage at ITV’s skating reality TV show.
With the new series of Dancing On Ice about to hit our screens in January, judge Jason has revealed to the Daily Star that the show has had its own fair share of romances between the stars and their partners…
“We’ve had loads of those. We just don’t make a song and dance about it,” he said.
While a source reportedly told the newspaper: “It seems that there was a lot more going on backstage at the ice rink than fans got to know about.
“Clearly Dancing On Ice is worse than Strictly. All eyes will be on the new batch of stars getting their skates on.”
The celebrities currently donning their skates for the ITV show include Love Island star Wes Nelson, former X Factor contestant Saara Aalto, Westlife singer Brian McFadden, former Strictly professional dancer James Jordan, and TOWIE star Gemma Collins.
There’s also plenty of soap stars for TV fans. Not only is former Neighbours star Mark Little appearing, as well as EastEnders favourite Richard Blackwood, but Coronation Street actress Jane Danson is also taking part.
Jane has even been partnered with professional skater Sylvian Longchambon – who just happens to be her best friend and Corrie co-star Samia Longchambon’s husband.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will be returning to their presenting roles on the reality TV show, and judges Ashley Banjo, Jason Gardiner, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will all be returning to the judging hot seats.
The new series of Dancing On Ice will start on Sunday 6th January, at 6pm on ITV.
