Remember remember the 5th of November... If only so you have an excuse to treat yourself to a new coat!
We love bonfire night. The pretty fireworks, warming fire and delicious food make it one of our favourite nights of the year. It’s also great because we get to indulge in super cosy fashion like puffer coats!
This year, why not invest in one of the high street’s hottest (or should that be cosiest?) coat trends – the puffer. Surprisingly easy to wear, the retro coat style has popped up all over after it had been spotted on the AW16 catwalks. Way more purse-friendly than a Balenciaga price tag, the great British high street have come up trumps creating quilted coats to *die* for.
Puffer jackets are IT for 2016
A bit worried a puffer coat will pack on the pounds? There are lots of ways to wear a puffer and not just oversized. Avoid extra bulk slim quilting and puffs with diagonal stitching.
But, in all seriousness, the best thing about a great puffer jacket is the fact that it is so squashy and warm! The ideal down jacket will make you feel like you’re wandering around town wearing a snug duvet. And that’s something we would all like, right?
Quilted coats are surprisingly easy to wear
Another thing to think about when buying a puffer is the shape and length. Petite types should try a shorter, boxier version. If you’re taller go all out with a midi length to enjoy maximum warmth. Also keep your eyes peeled for hooded version. So much easier than battling through the wind and rain with a flimsy umbrella!
There are plenty of colourways and textures to play with. For a bold, festive statement go berry red. Classic black will, of course, go with everything. For something a little more luxe, pick up a chic satin number. These look stylish enough to wear on a night out and will look super cool over your party LBD.
