Everyone knows that life can be super stressful.
While a little bit of stress can be good for you, too much can have a negative effect. And with the hectic pace of day-to-day life, we’re all in search of simple solutions to help us unwind at the end of a long day.
Psychology teacher Brett Phillips, who teaches at a high school in California, has compiled a list of ways to de-stress your life.
He hands out the list at the beginning of every term time to his students, with this being the tenth year running!
One of his students, Alina Ramirez, decided to share the list online and highlighted some of her favourite tips.
Her post has gone viral and has been retweeted over 25,000 times.
As a result, thousands of social media users have commented on how grateful they are to have seen the list.
While Phillips doesn’t take credit for authoring the list he does take time to follow its advice every day. What a guy!
Why does this work?
It’s so easy to see why the list has taken the internet by storm. By focusing on small, everyday tasks like getting organised in the morning, each day becomes more manageable.
In addition, positive steps such as giving someone a compliment are bound to boost those feel good endorphins.
Reading a book, spending time in natural surroundings and catching up with friends will also help to relieve some of the stress that builds up.
