Fit & Well cover star Catherine Tyldesley is training for summer trek
F&W cover star Catherine Tyldesley is still keeping fit and shedding that baby weight. This summer she and two of her other Corrie stars are trekking for charity and raising money for The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity based in Manchester and Parkinson’s UK.
Catherine, Katie McGlynn and Tisha Merry, who play Eva Price, Sinead Tinker and Stpeh Britton are taking part in TrekFest on June 4th. It’s the ultimate endurance challenge, offering participants the choice of a 25km, 50km, 75km or 100km route.
Opting for the 50km course, the trio have been training hard and Catherine seems ready for it. ‘I’m passionate about completing the challenge. Our team will train hard to make a respectable time, and raise much needed funds for both charities. We hope to do both of these causes proud, and I’m looking forward to this amazing adventure with a great bunch of friends.’
Katie added: ‘I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into the challenge. We will be going on some training treks in the spring to wear in our hiking boots and get used to climbing hills. I have been told this certainly isn’t going to be a walk in the park!’
The Brecon Beacons will offer a beautiful, while also challenging, setting for TrekFest this summer. Participants will cross the highest peak in the Beacons and South Wales, including Pen Y Fan (886m), Corn Du (873m) and Cribyn (795m).
