Best mousse for instant body goes to… Lee Stafford My Big Fat Root Boost, £6.99 Boots. It’s the ideal time of year to invest in some extra volume and this was our favourite mousse that last all day! It’ll boost the finest of hair, which is perfect for the party season.
Best blow-dry spray for added root lift goes to… John Frieda Luxurious Volume Blow-out spray, £6.99 Creating volume has never been so easy. All the expert judges agreed this was a fab everyday blow-dry spray! Simply use on wet hair to give a natural looking lift without leaving greasy.
Best tool or brush for cheating volume goes to… Vidal Sassoon Tangle Free Hot Air Styler, £12.99. This easy to use styler is great for cheating a salon blow-dry. Pick between two brush sizes to add lift, volume, curls and flicks.
Best last-all-day hairspray Silvikrin Flexible Hold Hairspray, £2.99. This came out on top of our online survey and was a firm favourite among our beauty team too. It holds well all day and adds shine without dryness. Bliss!

Celebrity hairdresser Richard Ward agreed, “It didn’t leave hair over-producty or limp, hair still had movement and bounce.”
Best smoothing product to stop fly-aways goes to… Bumble and Bumble straight blow-dry cream, £23.50. A fashion week fave this smoothing product our judges also loved that this left hair feeling smooth, straight and manageable without weighing it down.
Best styling brush goes to… Andrew Barton, Hold It Right There Maxi Volume Brush, £9. Celebrity and Royal hairdresser Phillip Kingsley, absolutely loved this hair tool. He told us, “This brush is really lightweight and provides long lasting body and volume to the hair – it makes styling a breeze!”
