She avoids hot water
That’s right it’s important to keep your shower temperature cool so that your hair doesn’t get stripped of moisture and volume. Really hot water can actually leave your hair limp so take cooler baths and showers.

She knows what products to use
Your shampoo and conditioner will both keep doing exactly the same job each time you use them, so if you come across a favourite, feel free to stick to it! Hair does change though, whether it’s through colouring, age, or a different cut, so you may need to swap to meet its different needs at times.

She invests in a supplement

Washing your hair every other day is about right when it comes to healthy, thick hair. As long as you use the right products for your hair you will fine that washing it more regularly will keep it looking shiny and glossy. Experts say to try and stick to the following:

  • Wash you hair daily if you live in a city with pollution or humidity, or you work out daily/go to the gym.
  • Wash your hair every few days if you live in a rural environment away from pollutants, or an especially dry climate.
  • Wash your hair every other day if its combination hair – so dry ends and oily roots.

She always uses conditioner
Just like the skin on your face, your hair needs added moisture too, especially in the winter. So make sure you use a good conditioner and one that is suited to your hair type. Keeping hair glossy isn’t just down to your conditioner, make sure you also use a conditioning spray before you blow-dry to keep ends nourished.

She eats the right foods
There are certain minerals and vitamins which are good for your hair such as iron, zinc and omega 3 fatty acids. So try eating lots of lean meat and oily fish for a few weeks and you will see a difference!


She gets regular trims – always!
Hair is always going to look great after a cut – always. It will naturally appear thicker and more voluminous and split ends will be replaced with a lovely finish that will give hair bounce. The sun can damage your hair as much as your skin if it’s not protected so make sure you try and avoid direct sunlight. Not only will it dry hair our and age your look but it can also damage your sensitive scalp too. Always wear a hat or use a hair SPF spray when in the sun.
