Pretty-in-pink in one of this summer’s hottest shades, the Duchess of Cambridge stood out from the crowd at Trooping the Colour today.
Dressed head to toe in hot pink, it is thought that the Duchess of Cambridge went to Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, the designer behind her iconic wedding dress, for her outfit today. Kate also turned to McQueen for the outfit she wore to her sister Pippa Middleton’s wedding last month.
Kate’s fashion-forward outfit was completed with a Jane Taylor hat, her go-to milliner, and a pair of diamond drop earrings that had been lent to the Duchess by the Queen herself.
The Duchess of Cambridge joined the rest of the royal family today for the Queen’s official birthday parade.
Resplendent in a smart pale blue suit with a matching hat, The Queen led the royal family through the celebrations, which included the Trooping the colour performance and a royal family appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony for a flyover.
Dressed in a sweet pink summer dress to coordinate with her mum, Princess Charlotte also made an appearance during today’s celebrations, along with her big brother Prince George.
Ahead of her official 91st birthday celebrations today, the Queen shared a sombre and reflective message on what is “traditionally a day of celebration.”
“As a nation, we continue to reflect and pray for all those who have been directly affected by these events” Her Majesty wrote.
“United in our sadness”
“During recent visits in Manchester and London, I have been profoundly struck by the immediate inclination of people throughout the country to offer comfort and support to those in desperate need.”
In conclusion, Her Majesty concluded her message by saying, “United in our sadness, we are equally determined, without fear or favour, to support all those rebuilding lives so horribly affected by injury and loss.”
In addition, the Queen insisted that there was a minute’s silence before the event today to pay tribute to all the victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster that unfolded earlier this week. The dreadful tragedy has reportedly been ‘very much on Her Majesty’s mind’ this week.
