The Duchess of Cambridge is proving to be an expert in diplomatic dressing. During her tour of Poland and Germany with Prince William, Kate has managed to pay tribute to both countries on multiple occasions through different outfits both subtly yet stylishly.

While many of us wouldn’t be able to pull off wearing the specific colours of a county’s flag without looking like we were costumed for a Eurovision party, the Duchess of Cambridge has effortless emulated both the Polish and the German flag’s key iconic colours whilst in Europe.

The Duchess has also paid homage to Poland and Germany’s rich culture, and celebrated their fashion industries by selecting dresses from local designers in both countries. In Poland, the Duchess divided opinion in an unusual dress by Polish designer Gosia Baczynska.

Last night, the Duchess of Cambridge paid tribute to the couple’s current host country Germany, in a chic evening dress by German designer Markus Lupfer.

The elegant evening gown selected for the final night of the couple’s European tour is also thought to have contained another subtle nod to Germany that many may have missed.

Eager-eyed fashion fans have suggested that the bird incorporated in the sea green and deep blue jacquard pattern of the dress is actually an eagle – the national bird of Germany.

Kate accessorized the look with a new belt, cinching the dress in at the waist, and a pair of Prada heels, also worn the previous evening with a show-stopping red gown.

Last night, the Duke and Duchess visited the Clärchens Ballhaus in Berlin, one of the last remaining ballrooms in the city. They spent the evening meeting people from the world of German and British culture. Prince William was even spotted chatting and getting playlist tips from the DJ!

Today marks the final day of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s European tour. They will finish their official visit in the city of Hamburg, before flying back to the UK on Friday afternoon.
