Take a look at these two pictures of Woman’s Beauty Writer Annie Vischer. Annie wears two totally different combinations of makeup in each one. Not only that, but one makeup look is considerably more expensive than the other. The question is which one?

The price difference between these two looks will buy you a pretty gorgeous handbag, so it’s worth being savvy about what you buy! When it comes to what’s worth the splurge – always the foundation. This is the ‘make or break’ product. Get your foundation wrong and no lipstick or mascara in the world is going to save your look. It’s worth hunting around and if your perfect foundation is worth pocket money then bonus! Mine happens to be a bit more spenny but it’s not something I’m set to sacrifice.
The one thing I do always buy cheaply is mascara, I want length and volume and for that I need a sturdy plastic brush and a good formula – that’s something cheaper brands can always give you. I am however in love with the YSL Couture Kajal – it works to add definition to a day look and up the ante for an evening-worthy smokey eye.
