Whenever we see the super slim, lithe, and impossibly toned Victoria’s Secret models sashaying down a runway or splashed across the internet, we can’t help but feel a stab of guilt.
Not because we don’t look like that per se (sometimes we’d like to but…) But more so because of the half a packet of digestives we munched on after lunch. Or, the rather sizeable glass of red wine we enjoyed in front of the telly the night before.
Surely, a body like that isn’t made on a full stomach we think. ‘These women probably live on salad leaves’ we cry! But if you thought that Victoria’s Secret models achieve their slim figures by hardly eating, you’d be wrong.
“I eat 3,000 calories a day before the VS show. Three thousand!” said Victoria’s Secret model Taylor Hill.
“There’s no way you look like that and don’t eat. You will die.”
So how do these famously slim women eat so much but stay looking so good? Well, it’s all about eating the right things and working out regularly.
Frequent gym sessions are followed by nutritious and delicious meals full of protein and veg.
“Victoria’s Secret girls are like athletes. We’re like Olympians. We’re strong.” Taylor admitted. Whilst VS veteran Adriana Lima revealed, “It is really intense…I jump rope, I do boxing, I lift weights.”
So, can we replicate VS success? It’s not impossible. Committing to a fitness regime or regular exercise is the first step. Followed by eating meat or fish with healthy green veg. However, it would also mean saying goodbye to the digestive biscuits…
Maybe we’re fine just how we are. Everything in moderation, right?!
