Gin, our old faithful friend. How we love you. With a dash of tonic, in a fruity cocktail or infused with some fancy berries, you never fail to make our Friday night.
So you can imagine our excitement when we found out that a ‘gin hotel’ is actually happening. In real life. ‘The Distillery’, brought to you by the makers of Portobello Road Gin, will feature four floors dedicated to our favourite tipple.
The basement will play home to ‘The Ginstitute’ where guests can learn how to make the spirit.
The ‘Resting Room’ on the ground floor has a pub-like feel and features barrels of the good stuff suspended from the ceiling. As well as other locally sourced spirits and spirits from around the world.
On the first floor guests will find ‘GinTonica’, a vibrant tapas and cocktail restaurant.
The top floor features boutique hotel rooms, where guests can gaze over the rooftops of Portobello Road (while sipping on a G&T, of course). Rooms start from £150 per night.
And, as well as ample amounts of Gin, there’s some pretty tasty looking food on offer too….
Founder of Portobello Road Gin, Ged Feltham, said: “We already have bookings for The Distillery from across Europe and even as far afield as South Africa. The positive response to the project so far has been overwhelming!
“Not only does the new distillery mean we can continue to produce our product on Portobello Road. It has allowed us to expand our hugely successful gin-making experience, ‘The Ginstitute’.
“We look forward to exciting guests from around the globe with amazing gin!”
Doors will open on 16th December – and we have a feeling this place is going to book up quickly!
