The Russian dancer left Strictly last year to have a baby. Now she has completed her training to become a hot yoga instructor and she swears by it!

Kristina Rihanoff was one of the professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing, but since leaving the show last year she has decided to train as a hot yoga instructor.

This exercise class is performed in high temperatures – and when we say high we are talking around the 40 degree mark!

The Russian dancer revealed that hot yoga, also known as Bikram yoga, is what keeps her body “supple and flexible” in an interview with the Sun.

She said: “I’ve been practising yoga for over 18 years and I really do believe it helped me with my dance training and the fact I never had injuries. It kept my body flexible and supple and in great shape.”

Kristina, who has a one-year-old daughter with former England rugby star Ben Cohen, revealed that she no longer focuses on the physical appearance of her body.

Speaking to Closer magazine Kristina said you should exercise to feel good not to look good.

She added: “I am actually never really happy with the way I look but I learnt to appreciate what I have. Now I understand that it’s actually more important to feel good and be healthy than focus on the outside. Everything comes from within.”

Unsurprisingly, Kristina also has a pretty good diet. she suffers from some food intolerances and therefore avoids dairy and gluten. Her diet mainly consists of seafood and fish as it is the best way for her to take on protein.

Kristina stressed the importance of drinking enough water. In her Closer interview she said: “Water is everything for our body so drink more than you think you should.” The dancer also decided to quit coffee and opts for a peppermint tea instead.

But don’t worry, she’s still only human and admitted that her favourite cheat treat is cake and chocolate!
