500g plums, halved and stoned

200g blueberries

125g golden caster sugar

Finely grated zest and juice of 1 orange

1/2tsp almond extract

1tbsp thickening granules

Crumble topping:

175g plain flour

60g ground almonds

90g chilled butter, cut into cubes

90g golden caster sugar

30g flaked almonds

1 Set the oven to 200C, gas 6. Put the plums and blueberries in a 1.75 litre baking dish and sprinkle over the sugar, orange zest and juice, almond extract and thickening granules. Gently stir to mix.

2 For the crumble topping, put the flour, almonds and butter into a food processor and pulse to form fine crumbs. Add the sugar and pulse again to combine.

3 Spoon the crumble mixture over the fruit and scatter with the flaked almonds. Bake for 30 mins until pale golden.
