Corkscrews at the ready!
Just when we thought things couldn’t get any better in the fizz stakes, something comes along that ramps things up another notch.
If the choice between opening a bottle of Prosecco or wine has proved to be your ultimate girl’s night in dilemma, then this could just be the answer to your prayers!
Introducing the glass by glass guzzling joy that is Progrigio – that’s a Prosecco Pinot Grigio hybrid to you and me! Launched by Asda – and in stores this week – the aptly named ‘pro’ wine can be snapped up for just £5 a bottle. Did we hear a cork popping somewhere?
‘Crisp, fresh and delicately floral’ Progrigio is designed to be served in a flute – naturally. And the best part is, is that it can be used as the base for a cocktail – hurrah!
After the devastating news that Prosecco prices could rise by nine per cent (59p per bottle) due to factors including a weaker pound and higher inflation – this is just the boost we needed!
Ed Betts, Asda wine buying manager had this to say on the drink’s debut:
“We always strive to keep prices as low as possible without compromising on quality.
“And we believe Progrigio is the ideal affordable sparkling wine alternative.”
