Speaking on today’s Good Morning Britain, Susanna said: “It was just a kiss, and they’d had a few drinks, we’ve all had a few drinks.”
After co-presenter Piers Morgan questioned if she’d made the same mistake before, Susanna brushed off his comment and added: “I think we’ve all had a few drinks and had a kiss, haven’t we?”
However, Susanna’s showbiz correspondent Richard Arnold, disagreed with her opinion: “I think it’s possibly the fact they had partners waiting in the wings, that’s the real issue.”
As the smooch led to much controversy among Stictly viewers, both stars have shared public messages online regarding the situation.
The statements highlight the kiss to be a “one-off mistake” for both parties, who apologise for “any offense or hurt” they may have caused.
Seann shared: “In light of the story in today’s newspaper I would like to offer my sincere apologies for my actions.”
Katya also penned a message claiming the scandal is “not a reflection” on her marriage.
The professional dancer posted: “I’m so sorry about any offense or hurt I may have caused with my actions. I wasn’t thinking and it was a one-off mistake after some drinks.”
