Sparkles at the ready people, because Michelle Collins has now hinted she could be joining the Strictly Come Dancing line up.
The EastEnders legend appeared on This Morning yesterday to chat to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about her new stage show my Dad’s Gap Yeae.
But the cheeky hosts couldn’t help but probe her on whether she would ever take part in the popular BBC dancing competition.
Not holding back, 56-year-old Phil said, “What about Strictly though? Because there has been [rumours] banded about. Yes or no?”
“Oh I don’t know,” Michelle replied, before adding, “They’re all too good, aren’t they?”
To which the presenter replied, “Yes, but you learn!”
Michelle, 57 – who played Cindy Beale in EastEnders – continued, “I’ve not been to stage school, I’ve not had any dance training whatsoever, they’re all too good in the beginning.”
Holly then chimed in, “But look at Stacey Dooley, she didn’t have any dance training and she went on to win it and she was amazing, it just shows sometimes happens.”
And not letting the subject go, Phil continued to ask, “Is it a maybe? Would you maybe do it?”
The actress finally gave in, and revealed she might slip into a sparkly dress after all.
“I suppose you know what, I would never say never to anything I don’t think these days because I think there are no boundaries anymore you just don’t know,” she said.
“And then if I did do it I would look very silly. I don’t know, we’ll see.” How exciting!
Unfortunately for Holly and Phil, she did later completely rule out Dancing On Ice, quipping, “I’d never do that.”
Other celebs rumoured to be joining Strictly – which won the NTA for Best Talent Show on Tuesday – include Radio presenter Chris Evans, who recently claimed he’s already signed up.
When The One Show’s Alex Jones asked him whether he could confirm his place in the line-up, the 52-year-old said, “Well, I have said yes, I have said yes.”
