"Of course, I'd love to have kids"
After a loved up exchange with his actress beau Meghan Markle at the Invictus Games, it seems only natural that Prince Harry is looking to his future. And when the royal met cheeky two-year-old toddler Emily Henson at the tournament’s Sitting Volleyball finals he proved that his parenting skills are one thing he already has in hand.
Settling down to watch the match with a courtside sized bowl of popcorn Harry was completely unfazed when Emily made a sly grab for a handful of the moreish snack – much to her mother Hayley’s dismay. As a once plucky youngster himself, the prince seemed tickled rather than ticked off by Hayley’s bold move, and a firm friendship quickly developed between the unlikely pair.
Cue adorable photos of the Harry pulling funny faces at Emily – the daughter of competitor and Paralympian David Henson – explaining the finer points of the game with hand gestures and generally inducing more than a few ‘awww’ moments from the watching crowd.
Speaking to The Telegraph earlier this year the prince admitted that he hoped for a family in the future, saying, “Of course, I’d love to have kids”. And as well as being a proud uncle to Prince George and Princess Charlotte, Harry is also getting plenty of practice in as the godfather to six of his friends’ children. And the key to being a good godfather according to Harry?
“I think the key to that is to be able to grow up, but also be able to stay in touch with your childhood side,” he told The Telegraph.
We know we’re getting ahead of ourselves, but we are keeping our fingers crossed for the patter of tiny feet…
