For the first time, doting dad Peter Andre has opened up about a terrifying hospital dash he and wife Emily experienced with their youngest son Theo, last year.
Speaking to OK! magazine, the father-of-four revealed the horrifying moment they discovered 1-year-old Theo was struggling to breathe last Christmas. The Mysterious Girl singer shared that he and Emily quickly dashed their new-born son to hospital, describing it as a “very scary” time.
He told the publication, “He was hospitalised this time last year, shortly after being born.
“He got bronchiolitis at two weeks old, which is a winter illness in babies. It causes inflammation in the airways so oxygen levels can drop.”
Continuing, Peter shared, “I noticed he was having trouble breathing when he was feeding and at times there would be quite big pauses between his breaths.
“It was a very scary time. Emily’s mum is a paediatrician so Theo was in great hands, but it was a horrible time.
Emily also shared, “It was tough for me to speak about at the time but now he’s a chubby cherub and is right as rain, I feel fine to talk about it.”
But Peter also admitted that the terrifying health scare last Christmas has made the family look forward to the festive season all the more this year.
“I’m really looking forward to it as last year Theo was so miserable and he wasn’t well at all.”
Doting dad Peter continued, “None of the kids have ever had anything like that so it was worrying. After a tough time last Christmas with Theo big ill, this year will be amazing.
Peter recently also shared that he will have all his kids together this Christmas, as he an ex Katie take it in turns to have shared kids Princess and Junior for the big day.
The family will celebrate the day at the couple’s plush Surrey mansion.
