EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer is set to return to our screens for the third time in 25 years.

Producers confirmed on Wednesday that Patsy will be returning to Walford for a ‘huge storyline’ with her first scenes to appear in the autumn.

The flame-haired actress, 46, left the UK for sunny California five years ago with her husband and four children.

But fans can’t wait to see her iconic character, gobby Bianca Jackson, return after a lengthy hiatus.

Executive producer Jon Sen said: ‘I’m thrilled Patsy’s agreed to return to reprise her iconic creation in a blistering storyline that will grip fans this autumn.’

A sourced added the The Sun: ‘Bosses are delighted to be getting Patsy back. She’s a real Enders icon and fans love seeing old faces return.

‘She has yet to get her scripts but she will no doubt be at the centre of drama when she returns in the autumn.’

Patsy joined EastEnders in 1993 and was known for her volatile relationship with Ricky – played by Sid Owen – as well as her trademark ‘Rickaaaaay’ screech.

Her wedding to Ricky in 1997 drew more than 22 million viewers – one of the biggest soap audiences ever.

Patsy, who has been married to Richard Merkell for 19 years, was also known for her tempestuous relationship with her mother, Carol.

Her explosive new storyline will involve her troubled daughter, Tiffany, who she had on the soap in 1999.
