The Oscars 2017 red carpet – from the glamorous gowns to the gossip…

Lights! Camera! Action! It’s Hollywood’s most glamorous night of the year! Stars of the silver screen from all over the world with descend on LA this evening for the 89th Academy Awards. From Meryl Streep to Nicole Kidman, Ryan Gosling and Leonardo DiCaprio.

However, one well-known Hollywood star will be missing from the red carpet tonight. Award winning actress Natalie Portman won’t be in attendance at the Oscars this year. Despite glowing at the Golden Globes, and being nominated for her leading role in Jackie at the Oscars, the 35-year-old is missing the event this year. The reason? She’s due to give birth any day now!

Natalie revealed, “Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Academy Awards. I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends.”

So, whilst the stars slip into their couture gowns, Portman will be settling down to watch the ceremony from home! The actress is already a mum to son Aleph.
