Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have announced that they're expecting their first baby together.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony just six months ago, in May. And now, they’ve shared the exciting news of their impending arrival in an official statement on the Kensington Palace Twitter account.
It read, “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.
“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
Harry and Meghan’s new arrival will be the baby cousin to Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and their newest arrival Prince Louis.
The adorable announcement follows some speculation from royal fans, who noted at Princess Eugenie’s wedding recently that Meghan could be pregnant, after wearing a flowing coat that she didn’t take off throughout the ceremony.
It’s thought that the Duchess is just weeks into her pregnancy, given that she was not showing at a recent engagement in Sussex with Prince Harry.
But it won’t be a peaceful first few weeks for Meghan Markle, as she and Harry have just last night flown in to Australia, to begin their 16-day tour of Australia, Tonga, Fiji and New Zealand.
The Duchess again sparked rumours that she was expecting after arriving on the plane, as she was holding two purple folders in front of her stomach.
Harry and Meghan have a whopping 76 engagements to complete during the tour – so lets hope the Duchess finds some time to take it easy whilst shes overseas!
A huge congratulations to the couple on the incredibly happy news.
