ITV daytime show Loose Women has announced that it soon will be welcoming a very special new guest panellist, in the form of a former girlband member.
The programme confirmed on Thursday that Spice Girl Mel B would be joining the panel for three consecutive episodes of the show next week.
It’s not yet known which days Mel will be appearing on the show – so fans will need to keep an eye out for the singer.
Discussing the announcement, Mel B herself revealed that she was “so excited” to be joining the panel temporarily, to talk about all the important issues of the day.
She said: “So excited to be back on Loose Women!! Love this show as it’s full of feisty women like me talking about issues that women really care about …and having a laugh at the same time! Can’t wait to come back to my Loose Women sisters!!”
Loose Women’s Editor Sally Shelford also revealed that the show are thrilled to have Mel on board – having only appeared on the show as a guest before.
She confessed: “We can’t wait to have Mel B on the panel. As a former Spice Girl she’s the epitome of Girl Power – and that’s exactly what we want on this show. She’s feisty, she’s fun, she’s fearless and I’m absolutely delighted Mel B will be with us for three really exciting shows.”
42-year-old Mel currently lives and works for much of the year out in Los Angeles, so it seems she’s making a rare trip back home for the ITV show.
She has a permanent role on America’s Got Talent as a judge over there, after working on the UK series some years ago.
And if the star’s previous interviews are anything to go by, it seems there will be plenty of gossip for Mel B to discuss during her three-day stint on Loose Women.
Just recently, the mum-of-three discussed hers and her fellow Spice Girls’ close friendship with Prince Harry, back when he was a young boy. She revealed that the girlband would often pop round to William and Harry’s home, dining on beans and toast.
She said: “We’d go over to their house and have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! And we would have beans on toast.”
It’s thought that Mel will join the rest of the band, including Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton, Mel C, and Geri Horner (nee Halliwell) at the big royal wedding on 19th May. The singer recently confirmed that she would be going to the celebration – although it’s unclear if there are plans for the Spice Girls to actually perform on the big day.
We’ll have to wait and see…
