Discussing online bullying on the show, Shayne said “I can laugh about the abuse because I have thick skin.”

Live from the Corrie set, Shayne read out some of the worst tweets he has received, which included, ‘Shayne Ward has the XXL factor,’ to which he simply replied, ‘Good one,’ and ‘Shayne Ward is getting fat,’ to which the soap star responded, ‘That’s just called being content, happy and very much in love.’ While chatting to the panel, Shayne revealed that he’s happier than ever with his weight.

Referring to his X Factor win back in 2005, the star said, “I mean I was 21 when I won the X Factor and now I’m 32, so of course my body’s going to change.” He added that it was important for him to be “cuddly” for his young daughter Willow. “I enjoy my food, and now that I’m a dad as well I have a more cuddly figure, and I’m quite happy about that for my little girl,” he said.

Shayne welcomed his first child, daughter Willow, with his girlfriend, Hollyoaks actress Sophie Austin, in December 2016.

Speaking about fatherhood, Shayne said, ‘It was my sole purpose. I think everything else is a hobby. People could say I was born to sing, but I think I was always born to be a dad.

‘She’s wonderful, Willow May, she’s a beautiful girl…  I absolutely love it, she’s wonderful.’

It’s been recently announced that the Corrie favourite is set to leave the show in a shocking exit that will have viewers reeling in 2018.

The X-Factor 2005 winner, who joined the Street three years ago as Aidan Connor, has enjoyed a string of on-screen romances and shocking storylines.

But his exit will prove to be the most exciting yet, as a source revealed to The Sun: “Nobody will see this coming. Viewers are going to be absolutely stunned. It’s going to be a blow for the fans — but also a massive TV moment.”

Even the cast and crew of the show are being kept under wraps about the fate of the much-loved character.

Shayne, who has won awards for his performances and has been a huge hit with fans, is set to take his final bow next May.
