On Tuesday, the Duchess of Cambridge returned to royal duties for the first time since welcoming baby Prince Louis in April.
Kate took around six months off for maternity leave after having her youngest son, but it was back to business as usual at the start of the week, when she visited the Sayers Croft Forest School in Paddington, London.
After taking a tour around the site, the Duchess then met up with children who attend the school for some adorable activities, such as leaf picking and listening to stories.
But there was one adorable moment in particular where Kate showed off her mum skills with one of the pupils at the school.
One little girl appeared to be particularly taken with the Duchess – but, as we all would be – found herself a little confused about the swarm of photographers following Kate around on the day.
The inquisitive pupil asked the Duchess of Cambridge, “Why are they picturing you?” – and Kate had the sweetest response for the little girl.
She said, “They’re picturing you! Because you’re special”. Clearly delighted with the answer, the girl then grabbed Kate’s hand, before leading her toward the next activity of the day.
Kate continued, explaining, “They’ve come to see what your school is like.”
Later on, Kate also sat down with some of the pupils for storytime, when she had another adorable encounter with a girl named Anwaar.
Clearly feeling a little restless, Anwaar started to play with her plastic cup after finishing her drink. Noticing it, Kate, ever the mum, stepped in to ask Anwaar if she wanted her to hold the cup. And Anwaar happily obliged!
The Duchess of Cambridge clearly had some adoring young fans during the day, and was swarmed with hugs from the minute she arrived at the school.
It’s thought that Kate will now be back in the swing of full-time royal duties, after a summer on maternity leave with her three children, George, Charlotte and Louis.
Both Charlotte and George are back at nursery and school respectively after the holidays, and the entire Cambridge family have moved back in to Kensington Palace, after spending the majority of the summer months at their country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.
