Kate Garraway is making the most of the school holidays - despite still presenting Good Morning Britain - she's taken up a new role and put herself in the firing line.
The 51-year-old presenter, and mum of two to Darcey, 12, and son William, eight, who she has with husband Derek Draper, is busy juggling work with ensuring her children are enjoying their school holidays but it’s not been easy for the TV star.
Kate shared an update with fans on social media to let them know how she’s getting on and we had to do a double take when we saw what she was doing.
Kate swapped the Good Morning Britain newsroom for her living room and instead of holding a pen, she was pictured carrying a toy Nerf gun and wearing a protective eye mask.
And no wonder she can’t wait for the new school term to begin, judging by the state of her living room with toys and foam Nerf bullets scattered around.
But fans couldn’t wait to praise the star for joining in with her kids. One wrote: “you’re such a cool Mum! xx,” another said: “Haha love that ! I want to introduce office nerf fun ! Looking good even in Goggles,” and a third asked: “Ha ha..No one can say you don’t lead a full life @kategarrawayweekend- my neck of the woods Chorley, then straight back to early get ups for GMB then nerf battles lol. You superwoman in disguise?? ”
Earlier this week Kate shared a hilariously adorable snap of her little one dressed up, wearing a blonde wig, make-up and a trilby hat trying to look exactly like his mum. Aww!
The presenter wrote to her 86,000 Instagram followers: “Thought my 9 yr old son had gone to bed then he emerged dressed as ‘mum on TV!!’ That’s what a visit to the @gmb studios will do for you.”
However, Kate seemed less than impressed with her son’s application of make-up.
She added: “Blimey ! Not sure what I make of the blusher applied all over the bottom half of his face like a beard or the silver eyeshadow all over cheeks or indeed the trilby?!!! but am loving the platinum bob! @gmb #glamsquad ideas for tomorrow?!!! See you st 6 a.m xxx”
