Kate Garraway appeared to hint that she’s heading for the I’m A Celebrity jungle today after being quizzed about the rumours on Good Morning Britain.
The 51-year-old faced questions from her co-hosts during a link to Lorraine Kelly’s show in which the Scottish host revealed that they’d be discussing speculation about this year’s jungle line-up.
Lorraine joked that one of the stars in question was ‘very close to home’.
“Are we very hot?” Susanna Reid asked as she looked at Kate, prompting Lorraine to reply: “Boiling!”
Kate playfully gave a shocked expression but didn’t comment on whether the rumours were true or not.
Instead she quipped: “You know it really disturbs me how much my colleagues would like to see me buried in a load of cockroaches.”
Ben Shephard seemed confident that Kate would be able to handle the challenges though.
“You’ve worked with a few [cockroaches] over the years, you can cope with them,” he joked, leaving Kate in fits of giggles.
It comes amid rumours that Kate has been offered a £150,000 deal to join the line-up of this year’s I’m A Celebrity.
“Kate has been approached by show producers because they know she would be TV gold,” a source told The Sun. “Kate has always been relatable and game for a challenge but since entering her fifties she’s embracing all aspects of life and sees the Aussie jungle as the ultimate life test.
“She’s in great shape at the minute too so wouldn’t have any qualm about stripping off in a bikini and would be flying the flag for the more mature lady.”
Kate is no stranger to reality TV either, having previously appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2008.
The mum-of-two isn’t the only famous name to have been linked with appearing in the jungle recently.
Other stars who have been rumoured to be on this year’s line-up have included X Factor singer Fleur East, former Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley and Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing.
Meanwhile it was confirmed last month that Holly Willoughby will present the show with Declan Donnelly in Ant McPartlin’s absence.
