"I really didn't think at 56 that I would be the parent of twins."
Hollywood silver fox George Clooney became a proud dad to gorgeous twins Ella and Alexander on June 6th. And, two months on, the normally unflappable A-lister has admitted that tackling first time parenting at the age of 56 is one of his big challenges yet.
Opening up about his experience in an interview with the Associated Press the award-winning actor confessed that an average day with his bundles of joy is a lot less glamorous than we’d imagine.
“I just have to clean the barf off of my tux,” he confessed.
“It used to be my barf but now it’s the twins’ barf. So it all works out.”
George also revealed that he doesn’t shy away from being hands on with the twins and is currently on “nappy duties”, giving wife Amal the chance to get much needed ‘me time’.
“Right now my job is changing diapers and walking them around a little bit,” Clooney admitted. “I really didn’t think at 56 that I would be the parent of twins. Don’t make plans. You always have to just enjoy the ride.”
But while the acting supremo may be struggling to make the adjustment from bachelorhood to fatherhood it seems that his human rights lawyer other half is taking motherhood in her stride.
“She’s like an Olympic athlete,” he revealed. “She’s doing so beautifully.”
George Clooney twins – all change
As well as a dramatic change in his lifestyle, we couldn’t help but notice that the double responsibilities of becoming a husband and dad may have taken a toll on George’s looks. We think these before and after pics tell their own tale, but there’s one thing we know for certain – whatever he’s doing, like a fine wine, George will only get better with age.
