Returning to the ITV studios with his head held high, Eamonn Holmes and his This Morning team are another award heavier – having triumphed at the National Television Awards as Best Daytime Show.

Attending the glitzy ceremony earlier this week, with co-host and wife Ruth Langsford by his side, Eamonn started the celebrations early – hinting at an exciting change to the This Morning format during his red carpet appearance.

Speaking about the new Sunday slot, which is fronted by Eamonn and Ruth, the 59-year-old hinted at the potential to extend the schedule to include a Saturday show too!

Revealing the launch of the weekend show had been a successful one, the popular TV personality told Digital Spy: “It’s all good. It clocked up well in the ratings – there seems to be a nice hole in the market for it.”

Tellingly, he then added: “Which is nice for people, and maybe it will lead to seven days, who knows?”

Despite raising the esteemed gong, Eamonn later revealed his night at the NTAs had “been ruined” by a misfortunate mistake…

Taking to Instagram, Phil and Holly’s co-star shared he’d suffered several blunders throughout the evening – with fellow partygoers allegedly mistaking him for Bodyguard actor Richard Madden.

Standing side-by-side with the hunky actor, Eamonn shared: “Whole night at The NTA’s ruined by people mistaking me for @maddenrichard The Bodyguard. Once and for all I’m on the left.”

As expected, fans have been quick to point out the striking likeness between the pair…

“I thought that you were next to an Eamonn Holmes impersonator! 😂 It’s uncanny the resemblance,” one commented.

A second added: “Such an easy mistake to make, but when you take a second look, you are so much better looking 😘”

Agreeing, a third added that the handsome pair “could be twins”.

We’re seeing double, Eamonn!
