Davina McCall has confessed she isn’t always the picture of happiness that she portrays online.
The 51-year-old, whose 17-year marriage to Matthew Robertson ended in 2017, admitted that she sometimes ‘fakes’ being happy.
“Sometimes I’m faking it. Sometimes I’m struggling,” the TV presenter told The Mirror.
“There’s been a few occasions where I’m struggling to see any positives in this at all.
“Happiness is marvellous. I love it when I’m happy, but I’m not always happy.”
Davina added: “It might look like I’m always happy because I quite often just show the bits when I’m happy. But I am often guilty of thinking, ‘No one really wants to see me when I’m unhappy’.
“The times when I’ve been honest – I posted on Christmas Day about loneliness and it wasn’t that I was massively lonely, but I did think it’s a tough day – and the feedback I got from that. It’s funny when you do put yourself out there a bit, you get good stuff back.”
There may be one thing putting a permanent smile on Davina’s face though as she recently hinted that she has found love again.
Taking to Instagram earlier this month, the TV personality shared a cryptic message while appreciating the simpler things in life – including “being loved”.
The meme reads: “I really, really think the secret to being loved is to love. And the secret to being interesting is to be interested. And the secret to being a friend is being a friend.”
Appearing to suggest that the sweet message resided with her personal life, Davina captioned the snap: “Amen to that.”
Davina, who shares her brood of Holly, 17, Tilly, 15, and 12-year-old son Chester with 50-year-old Matthew, is believed to have been single since their split, but she recently revealed exactly what she’s looking for in her next relationship.
“What I want is, I want men – and this is for my daughters and for my son and this is for me – to stand next to me as a partner. So everything is a partnership,” she told The Mirror.
