Christine Lampard revealed a surprising fact about her wedding day to Frank Lampard – her stepdaughter had to help her use the toilet.
The Loose Women star made the candid confession as she stepped in for Lorraine Kelly on Tuesday’s Lorraine, revealing her wedding dress was so enormous she was unable to use the toilet by herself.
So instead of struggling alone, the 40-year-old admitted she enlisted the help of one of her stepdaughters to help lift her Suzanne Neville gown up so she could use the loo, and she saw more of her stepmum than Christine would have liked.
“I’m not frightened to admit the fact that my stepdaughter got into the loo with me as she was small enough to fit into the cubicle with me,” Christine said during a fashion segment.
“She was a great help and she’s seen everything,” the TV star added. “We just had to go the loo together all day and she had to hoick the wedding dress up and that was that.”
She added, “We don’t need any more detail.”
Christine is the stepmother to Frank’s children Luna, 13, and Isla, 11, from his previous relationship with former fiancée and Spanish model Elen Rivas.
She didn’t reveal which of the former footballer’s daughters was chosen to help her.
Since tying the knot in a romantic ceremony at St Pauls Church, in Knightsbridge, London in December 2015, Christine and Frank have gone on to welcome their first child together, a little girl called Patricia, who was born in September 2018.
Christine has previously spoken about how being a stepmum helped prepare her for motherhood.
“I have had the girls since they were four and two and they are 13 and 11 so I have been through all the toddler years, the primary and secondary school bit and teenagers are around the corner, that is preparation, although the baby years is all new to me!” she told Lorraine last July.
“So I’ll take it day by day really, like every other new mum.”
