Stacey Dooley has shared very exciting news with fans!

Reigning champions Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton have had a rollercoaster of a year since winning Strictly Come Dancing in 2018. He quickstepped the nation’s sweetheart to victory, but in April Kevin branded himself ‘public enemy number one’ after Stacey left long-term partner Sam Tucknott and the couple admitted that their relationship had turned romantic, with Sam lashing out at Kevin in an emotional outburst on social media.

But the loved-up pair have emerged stronger than ever, even sparking rumours of an engagement after Stacey was spotted wearing a ring on her engagement finger during a romantic stroll in London this summer.

The busy couple have been keeping their heads down since their Strictly win, with Stacey working on new documentaries and Kevin moving into musical theatre, but now it seems they’re set to reunite on screen for the first time – and show us just why they won their Strictly crowns. Time to get excited!

Stacey teased the news that she and Kevin were set to launch the new series of Strictly with a special dance on Instagram, writing: ‘See you Sat eve kidssssss @bbcstrictly @bbcone,’ alongside a behind-the-scenes throwback snap showing her backstage with the Strictly glam squad.

Kevin was quick to comment on the post, posting bicep and heart emojis.

And Stacey’s fans were just as excited. One wrote: ‘Can’t wait,’ while another commented: ‘Best Strictly winner ever!!! And a lovely happy ending.’

‘Yayyyyy,’ a third added. ‘I’m so friggin excited,’ agreed a fourth.

‘Is the last year winners dance back???’ another user asked. ‘Was sad when we didn’t see @mrjoemcfadden last year.’

Stacey confirmed the news on Instagram Stories, writing: ‘We coming back to launch the new series … see you there.’

This year’s competition kicks off on 7th September, but the contestants, including Made in Chelsea’s Jamie Laing, Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley and EastEnders’ Emma Barton, have already got their sequins on for the big red carpet launch.
