Last night’s sell out Wembley Stadium show marked the final gig of the Spice Girls reunion tour – and there was a very special V.I.P. cheering them on from the stands...
Geri Horner sent fans wild when she posted a pre-show selfie with none other than Spice Girls superfan Adele. Geri captioned the post simply: ‘Finally together.’
But her followers had a lot more to say about it. ‘WOW WOW WOW,’ one person commented. ‘Two legends,’ another added.
‘Oh dear lord. YES!!!’ wrote another. ‘2 queens gracing us with this ICONIC post!’
Some were even moved to tears. ‘I actually balled my eyes out when I seen this,’ one person confessed.
The morning after the show, Adele admitted that spending the evening with her childhood idols had been just as emotional for her. ‘Tonight with my nearest and dearest I cried, laughed, screamed, danced, reminisced and fell back in love with my 10-year-old self,’ she wrote on Instagram.
‘It’s no secret how much I love them, how much they inspired me to run for my life and never look back.
‘I finally got to meet Ginger, I got drunk with the girls and quite frankly I can’t believe how far I’ve come.
‘Thank you for the madness I get to live, I couldn’t have got here without you 5 BRITISH legends! I love you!’
It was an emotional night for Geri, too. She issued an onstage apology to her bandmates for leaving the group back in 1998, admitting: ‘I’m sorry. I’m sorry I left. I was just being a brat. I want to say it’s just so good to be back with the girls that I love.’
After the show, she posted a heartfelt video on Instagram, saying: ‘So we’re done. It’s done. Thirteen stadiums, almost 700,000 people with three amazing women I’ve shared that stage with. I want to say thank you to Melanie, Melanie and Emma and everybody who showed up for us. It has been something that I will never ever forget.’
Holly Willoughby was also at the gig to support BFF Emma Bunton, along with All Saints pals Nicole and Natalie Appleton and TV presenter Laura Whitmore.
