Brookyln Beckham’s university move has left mum Victoria feeling more than a little miffed…

Starting university is a big step for any teenager. It’s the moment when you leave behind the comfort of your family home, to head into the madness of the supposed ‘real world’.

And now the oldest Beckham is getting ready to make the biggest move of his life so far, as he prepares for life in New York City, where he’ll be attending university.

18-year-old Brooklyn will be making the trip across the pond to study photography, although it’s not clear yet which NY campus he’ll be heading to.

It’s tough enough when a child leaves for university – let alone when they’re moving thousands of miles away. So like every nervous parent, it seems mum Victoria really isn’t looking forward to her eldest’s big move abroad.

The fashionista recently posted a heartfelt Instagram snap, showing just how emotional she’s feeling about Brooklyn’s impending move. Shared shortly after A-level results day, Victoria posted a candid snap of her and Brooklyn together. It was sent alongside the caption “We are all so proud of you Brooklyn. Amazing A level results and off to college. We love you so much and will miss you. #yesiamcrying #emotional x”

Dad David also shared a sneak peek of his son’s transition to the Big Apple. Sharing an picture with the New York skyline in the background, David revealed that he’s helping his eldest son make the big move across the pond, saying, “Englishmen in New York @brooklynbeckham @victoriabeckham”

Speaking to GQ magazine in a recent interview about the decision to move to NY to study, Brooklyn also admitted “I’m nervous, and my mum’s upset about me leaving.”

But clearly his mother’s hesitancy isn’t going to stop the youngster from having fun. He continued, saying: “But it’s really exciting. I kind of live in the moment. I don’t think people in New York will annoy me, and I feel like when I go there, I’ll meet lifelong friends. Stuff like that.”

Despite their worries for their eldest son, David and Victoria have previously admitted that they’re nothing less than thrilled for Brooklyn’s next endeavour.

How will David and Victoria cope with Brooklyn’s move?

Speaking on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Victoria spoke about his big move. She said: “We’re a very close family and I’m just so proud of him and everything that he’s achieving. He wants to be a photographer. He’s so passionate about what he does.”

“Brooklyn’s got a great eye. He’s very very focused and passionate and I’m just really proud – my baby’s going away and going to college.” – awwwww!

But just because he’s moving away, doesn’t meant that VB won’t be checking up on her eldest as much as possible. Watch out Brooklyn! Admitting she’ll find it hard to let go, Victoria confessed: “It’s probably going to annoy him, but I’m going to spend a lot of time there with him.”
And when asked by James if she’d be checking in over the phone, Victoria agreed, “Oh, a hundred percent!”
