Flatter your curves and show off your shape by avoiding these fashion mistakes!
Wear this, wear that, don’t do this, don’t do that – fashion ‘rules’ seem to involve so much conflicting advice, it can be hard to keep up!
What looks and feels great on you depends on your own personal style and how you wear your favourite pieces, rather than the clothes themselves.
There are, however, some fail-safe tricks for avoiding fashion faux pas. And the good news is, they’re really simple to follow!
- Wearing head-to-toe black
The all-black look doesn’t necessarily equal a streamlined, slimming silhouette. Mix it up with some monochrome statement pieces or a bold accessory to add some excitement to your look. Bright and bold shades are actually really flattering on a curvy shape!
- Wearing too many prints and patterns at once
Simple is best for all shapes and sizes. Having said this, rocking some loud and proud prints is something we wholeheartedly encourage. Winter florals look fabulous this season and slimming stripes are always a winner!
- Relying on heels to lengthen your legs
Save your feet this party season and opt for some stylish flats instead. As long as the style of shoes is open and doesn’t cut across your ankle, they’ll be super flattering. You could also try some stylish flatforms!
- Going for shorter styles
Long-line coats and jackets look sophisticated and stylish on curvy shapes, while short, boxy and bulky styles will accentuate the wrong places.
- Not showing off your shape!
Too much layering or baggy clothes will just swamp a curvy figure. Show off your best bits with clever tailoring and fitted styles that will make the most of your shape.
