Imagine the brilliance of a fully transportable prosecco bar – available to hire for events and serve chilled bubbles anytime and anywhere. Sounds heavenly, right?
Behold, the Vino Van: the genius brainchild of entrepreneur Siobhan Holmes.
She decided to convert an old horse-box into a fully functional and mobile prosecco bar.
Holmes, 29, told us that she wanted to create a service that could ‘bring the bubbles to the party’; even if that party is out in the middle of a field. Think boho weddings receptions and glamorous summer garden parties.
She said, “prosecco is something that I’m passionate about. It is a fun and diverse drink, so it brings friends together”
“I wanted to be part of something that’s ultimately joyful: to make events really special, and there’s nothing more special than your own private bar with bubbles on tap.”
Holmes was inspired after spotting a gap in the market for a drinks pop-up serving only prosecco. She was convinced that it would be a success at events and celebrations.
Once she had the idea, it took less than a month to buy and convert the old horse-box. It was a difficult renovation. Holmes hired local trades people to re-do the floor, install electricity and also to fit the bar.
After trawling through endless colour samples, Holmes finally settled on the perfect shade of paint. And, after adding her logo, the Vino Van was born! She completed the project on 3 February.
Holmes also completed an alcohol license course alongside the renovation. Then there was the difficult task of choosing the booze!
“We spent a great deal of time choosing the right wine,” she said. “After extensive taste testing – that was a tough day at the office – we opted for Glera Frizzante. We serve our wine from a cask which means we can keep it at the optimum temperature and it won’t lose its fizz.
“It also travels well too, which is essential for a mobile bar.”
The Vino Van is equipped to serve bubbly almost anywhere. It offers a set package starting at £600. A bespoke service that can be tailored for specific events is also available.
Signature prosecco cocktails, and a ‘pimp your prosecco’ service will also be available so people can add fruit garnishes or mixers to their drink.

An innovative cheesemaker from Somerset founded The Whole Cheese in 2012. He converted an old 1970s horse trailer into a mobile cheese stall.
The Whole Cheese mission is to “to provide organic picnic cheese boxes to hungry cheese lovers at live events”.
