Pear shaped? Well hello fabulous figure!

Super stylish celebs like Kim Kardashian and Kate Winslet have this shape and they know how to work it, too. These clever styling tips will help you make the most of your curves. Just remember to follow the rules…

1. The only way is up!

Keep the focus away from your top half with clever accessorizing. Try a statement necklace to jazz up an otherwise plain outfit, or a pretty printed scarf.

2. Go long

Long-line jackets, blazers and cardigans will skim your hips and elongate your frame, drawing the attention away from your hips and bum.

3. Be clever with colour blocking

Opt for darkly coloured trousers and skirts to magically minimise your bottom half. If you’re going to go for a bold shade or pattern, make sure it’s a top or jacket.

4. Get some structure

A structured jacket, shirt or top will help to widen your shoulders, adding proportion to your shape.

pearshaped

Kimberley Walsh, Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian and Kate Winslet are all pear-shaped ladies who make the most out of their shapely rears!

5. Wide is good

Wide-leg or bootcut bottoms are the best trouser style to go for if you want to balance out your frame.

6. Layer up

Adding layers to your top half will keep the focus away from wider hips. Then add a belt around your waist to retain some shape.

6. Try some 70s style

Bell and Kimono Sleeves add volume to your arms and balance out a bigger bottom. Plus, they’re right on trend for a 70s style look! Try a colourful print for a retro style.

 7. Choose skirts that are the right length

Cutting your shape off right at the knee isn’t a flattering look for anyone, especially pears! Go for a length that will elongate your legs instead. Skirts that stop mid-calf are far more flattering. A waterfall effect, where the skirt is longer at the back, will also work well.

9. Keep it simple

This may sounds like an obvious one, but adding details on your rear will only accentuate it. Stay away from embellishments and embroidery and go for simple, classic designs.

10. Go for a fitted top-half

The classic shape that makes the most of pears is a fitted top-half with a floaty, A-Line or tulip skirt. Accentuate that waist!

11. Show a little skin!

If you’re playing down your bottom half, there’s nothing wrong with showing a little shoulder or chest to balance out the look. Make the most of your curves!
