Mel B Simon Cowell jibe has left the famously fiery judges at loggerheads recently…

Mel B’s personal life has been splashed across the press for months now. The star has been in and out of the papers, following the dramatic announcement of hers and husband Stephen Belafonte’s divorce in April of this year.

And the couple, who were together for over 10 years, have had a famously messy separation. Allegations of affairs have hounded the pair, leaving Mel B understandably wanting to focus on her kids and her work.

So it’s no surprise that the ordeal is bound to be a sore subject for Mel, who is currently judging on America’s Got Talent.

As such, it was bound to be a bit of an awkward moment when Simon Cowell made a tounge-in-cheek jibe about the couple’s wedding night all those years ago.

The pair, who judge the show alongside Tyra Banks and Howie Mandel, were watching a magician act live on stage. The act however began to fall apart following technical issues.

So, capitalising on the moment as only Simon can, the head judge made a sarcastic jibe to Mel. He quipped, “I kind of imagine this would be like Mel B’s wedding night. A lot of anticipation, not much promise or delivery.”

The jibe clearly left the former Spice Girl irked, as she proceeded to throw a glass of water over Simon. She then angrily stormed out of the studio, past the tense judges.

Supermodel Tyra then exclaimed, “Mel B is out. This is live TV, y’all. Live TV.”

Simon’s support of Mel…

The pair have though worked together for a long time, so we can presume that Mel is well aware of what Simon can be like.

In fact, Simon offered up some high praise of the star following her divorce.

He said, “She’s an incredible person. If you think about what Mel’s done since leaving the Spice Girls and what she’s gone through, how hard she works and how I saw her try to handle this situation. It was astonishing.

“Yes, she’s under pressure but I think she’s in a good place. It really made me think about her as a person, what she’s achieved as a working mum and how she’s managed to balance everything. I don’t think she gets the recognition she deserves.”
