A spokesperson for Holly Willoughby has revealed that she is considering legal action against a company that have used photos of her in a bikini to promote and advertise their weight loss product, without her permission.
The advert in question is for Raspberry Ketone weight supplements, and including the caption, “Without a doubt, Holly Willoughby looks as fantastic as ever, and Raspberry Ketone was the key.”
One advert even claims that “sources close to her” have credited the supplements as her secret to weight loss.
Then, alongside the words on the advert, there are accompanying images of Holly, including one of the TV presenter in a bikini.
Holly often posts such pictures to her Instagram account, which has a following of 2.6 million.
However, she is said to have no connection to the company and product in question, and is reportedly gearing up for a legal battle against the company over the fabricated link.
The recent controversy has reportedly rattled the This Morning presenter so much, that she’s been left ‘furious’ over the use of her image to promote a product she has no association with.
A spokesperson for the presenter told the Mirror, “We’re aware of a number of scam websites using images of Holly, along with other celebrities, to sell weight loss products and are liaising with our lawyers about possible legal action.”
The This Morning star is, and remains, famously quiet about her figure and her rumoured recent weight loss.
Recently, fans have continued to speculate on her apparent weight loss – and in July, Holly weighed on the poignant reason why she doesn’t want to comment on the speculation.
She’s even admitted that her reluctance to address it is a conscious decision, as she’s keen not to encourage a focus on body image and weight for her and for all women.
Speaking to Fabulous magazine, she said, “I think people will always discuss it, and it’s exactly why I just won’t. It just adds to it. I’ve sat across from parents who have lost children from [eating disorders] and I don’t want to be a part of it.
“Body image is such a dull subject when there is so much more to talk about. As long as you’re happy and you’re healthy, move on.”
