Danielle Lloyd has been accused of ‘making mums feel like sh*t’ after sharing a picture of her stomach just one week after welcoming her fourth child.

Danielle, who shares her three eldest sons with ex-husband Jamie O’Hara, welcomed her first child with fiance Michael O’Neill earlier this month.

She took to Instagram to address the pressures that are put on new mothers to regain their pre-pregnancy figures, and denounce the judgement that is often passed on their choices – but ended up facing some backlash of her own in the process.

‘I had my baby one week ago, and this is me. Simply me,’ Danielle, 33, wrote alongside the image of herself baring her stomach in a short black top. ‘I’ve had no time to go to the gym or diet in a week, of course I’ve been with my newborn. But should I really be ashamed of how I look for fear of judgement?’

There's been a lot in the press this week about what mums who have recently given birth are 'supposed' to look like. I had my baby one week ago, and this is me. Simply me. I've had no time to go to the gym or diet in a week, of course I've been with my newborn. But should I really be ashamed of how I look for fear of judgement? Carrying a few extra pounds, or not – breast-feeding or bottle-feeding. Aren't we just all sick of judging each other? Whether you're Cheryl, Chanelle Hayes or Serena Williams – should any of us even be worrying about what people think of our bodies after bringing a new life into the world? We're all on a journey, all doing our best, and all have imperfections. I've had four children and I'd never dream of sneering at another mum's body. Let's all start focusing on what's REALLY important, looking after our kids – and focussing on our families rather than our bodies.🤷🏼‍♀️🙌🏻

She went on to address several discussions that had taken place in the press about celebrity mums recently, including Chanelle Hayes’ comments about Cheryl’s post-baby body, where she said that The X Factor star ‘showing off’ her flat stomach during her first public appearance was ‘unfair’ to other women.’Should any of us even be worrying about what people think of our bodies after bringing a new life into the world?’ Danielle questioned. ‘We’re all on a journey, all doing our best, and all have imperfections.’

The star’s post has sparked plenty of discussion amongst her 444k followers, and whilst some praised her for her empowering outlook, others were distinctly unimpressed.

‘What a pathetic post! Simply done just for compliments. Disgusting and will be unfollowing. Shame on you!!!’ one exclaimed, whilst another added: ‘Did you post this and a pic just to get people to say how good you look after 1 week post baby? I don’t think this was necessary at all tbf just a bit of look at me.’

Awww looking back at old pictures of me and my babies can't wait to add to our family 💙🌎👶🏼

‘This post will just make everyday mums feel like shit!’ a third exclaimed. ‘No1 is back in their jeans 1 week after birth, you are extremely lucky and while your msg is nice no1 will focus on the msg’.

‘Just don’t put it on for other to feel rubbish! Absolutely inconsiderate and full of self importance!’ another agreed. ‘Why not take a nice pic of you and your child bonding instead of a self obsessed one. Yes we get you are proud of your figure (who would’t be) but don’t be an arse about it!’

However, there were loyal fans of Danielle’s who quickly jumped to her defence, telling her that people were just ‘jealous’.

‘You look incredible. People are just jealous to be spiteful,’ one said to the star, followed by a second who wrote: ‘gosh you look amazing dan, goin to the gym all yr round and lookin after urself has paid off good for u hun yummy mummy ignore the jealous people x’.
