We’ve all heard of the fated Strictly curse. But could the Dancing On Ice curse be the next bad omen to hit the skating celebrities?

The Strictly curse has earned itself a bit of a reputation by now. After 14 years, it’s become hard to deny the existence of it, as the thing that shatters relationships and spurns affairs between professionals and celebrities.

Yikes!

And now it seems the revival of ITV show Dancing On Ice could be headed towards the same murky fate too…

The show is set to return on January 7th – with a whole host of famous faces including Donna Air and Candice Brown trying their hand on the ice.

And reportedly, host Philip Schofield has already admitted that he believes the ‘curse’ will find its way to the skating rink. Returning judge Jason Gardiner, however, is having none of it!

The no-nonsense choreographer has imposed a sex-and-booze ban on contestants next year with hopes to keep them focussed.

“They need to avoid alcohol, any overindulgence on Christmas Day and sex,” he said.

“Absolutely no sex. It drains you of your chi.

“I’m being serious. Like boxers, they will have to abstain. I’m going to.”

It’s a typical outburst of tough love from Jason, but will it prevent the Dancing on Ice stars falling prey to the curse?

Former GBBO winner Candice Brown has recently got engaged to long-term love Liam Macaulay. So could the show mark trouble for the pair? We hope not!

Donna is famously dating the youngest Middleton sibling, James. Reports have suggested that the couple have been on and off for a while – so might the show be the final nail in the coffin?

Corrie star Anthony Cotton is also taking part on Dancing On Ice. He and his partner Peter Ecclestone have been together, happily since 2005.

Fellow soap star Brooke Vincent is actually single. Might the show happily see love blossom for her?

We’ll have to wait and see!

However, it seems that the Dancing On Ice curse may actually have been a real thing, during the show’s original run all those years ago.

In the 2013 series, it was claimed that Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle and her partner had been hit by ‘the curse’. The pair split after three years together, following claims that the show was taking up all of her time.

Samia Ghadie, who starred on the show, also split from her boyfriend whilst taking part. And it was there that she met her now-husband, Sylvian Longchambon. Coincidentally, the pair now have a son together!

Sylvian also split from his partner whilst on the show. And rumours stated that the pair began dating very shortly after their mutual splits.

So will the curse hit this year’s lot of celebs? We’ll have to wait and see!
