eyelashes

We all lust after longer, stronger and more luscious looking lashes. Mascara opens up the eyes, making them look bigger and more youthful.

One of our ultimate eyelash crushes has to be soap star Michelle Keegan, so it’s no wonder she’s just been named the new face (and lashes) of Revlon.

Naturally, we wanted to know her secret. And we’re pleased to say that it doesn’t cost a penny, either!

Each new mascara on the market claims that it can give you bigger, bolder and better lashes. But all you need to do is switch up your technique in order to get the perfect flutter.

Here’s Michelle’s mascara trick that will give you bigger lashes in a flash…

For the top lashes

Firstly, hold your brush horizontally and carefully follow the natural curve of your lashes in a sweeping motion. Coat as many of your lashes as possible with an even layer of the product. Don’t worry about the corners for the moment – we’ll tackle those next!

For the corners

Once you’ve applied a coat of mascara to the majority of your lashes, it’s time to pay some extra care and attention to the corners. Rotate your mascara wand so that you’re holding vertically with the brush pointing upwards.

Carefully coat each of the lashes at the inner and outer corners of your eye individually.

This may take a bit of practice and a lot of patience but it’s definitely worth it. Evenly coating each of your eyelashes will help to make them look fuller and more voluminous.

For the bottom lashes

Many fear use of mascara on their bottom lashes, because any smearing or clumping of the product can accentuate dark circles and make us look older and more tired. A simple change in the way you apply it will make getting the bottom lashes right far easier.

Hold your brush vertically and slowly sweep the brush from the root of your lash to the tip.

This will allow you to get more control of the wand as it glides outwards from your waterline.

And you’re done!

Follow these simple steps to achieve a flawless flutter!
